An interesting dessert - from "a taste of strawberries".
- 946.38 ml strawberries, with stems
- 118.29 ml sour cream (use regular, not low fat)
- 118.29 ml lightly packed brown sugar
- Wash and dry berries. Set aside. Spoon sour cream and sugar into separate small bowls. Place bowls on a large serving plate, or platter. Use a fork to fluff sugar. Arrange strawberries around bowls. Diners first dip berries in sour cream, then in brown sugar.
We used to have this in the summer at my aunt and uncle's, when strawberries were in season. It probably helps to use the pourable kind of brown sugar, if you want to avoid lumpsin the sugar. Juicy, creamy, sweet and tart. Delicious!
When I selected this from my Strawberry swap team mate, I forgot that I've had this before. It is very quick, easy and refreshing. The sour cream couple with the brown sugar give the strawberries sweetness, but not overpowering. A wonderful variation for normal strawberries.
