This recipe came in the booklet with my ice cream machine. It's easy to make and delicious -- nice and chocolatey!
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2⁄3 cup sugar
- 1⁄2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 1⁄2 cups whole milk
- 3 1⁄4 cups heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- Place cocoa and sugars in a bowl and combine well. Add the whole milk and mix with a mixer until cocoa and sugars are dissolved ~ 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla. If not freezing immediately, cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Turn on ice cream machine and pour mixture into freezer bowl. Let the machine mix until thickened ~ about 25-35 minutes. The ice cream will be soft and creamy. If you like firmer ice cream, transfer ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for approximately 2 hours. Remove from the freezer 15 minutes before serving.
