Delicious house salad dressing from Dublin's on State Street in Chicago.
Make and share this Dublin's Balsamic Vinaigrette recipe from Food.com.
- 5 ounces olive oil or 5 ounces soya oil
- 1 ounce water
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon oregano
- 5 ounces balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon chopped walnuts
- mix oil and vinegar well then add spices.
I made this for PAC 2006. It's a delicious dressing, Janeydoe! I added a tiny bit more sugar, that's all. I might consider sprinkling more walnuts over the salad when I use this dressing -- love nuts! For those who might prefer a pale salad dressing, the balsamic vinegar might possibly be substituted with apple cider vinegar -- certainly not with a cheap white vinegar. I also think the flavour will get even better if the dressing is kept for a day.
Great dressing, although I think the water weakened it a bit. I'll try it next time without the water, should have a fantastic flavor then!
