Double-Chocolate Surprise Balls

ingredients

• 1 1⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
• 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 3 tablespoons margarine
• 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons cocoa
• 1 egg
• 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
• 3 1⁄2 dozen milk chocolate kisses
• granulated sugar

directions

1. Stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa.
2. Cream together the butter, margarine and brown sugar.
3. Beat in egg and vanilla until well blended.
4. Stir in flour mixture.
5. Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and chill several hours.
6. For each cookie, place a chocolate kiss on 1/2T.
7. of dough.
8. Press dough around kiss to cover completely.
9. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
10. While still warm, roll in granulated sugar.
