Decorated Spice Cookies

"These cookies are a Christmas tradition in my household. I look forward to making them every year! I love the old-fashioned flavor. I saw a bunch of spice cookies on Zaar, but none quite like this. Cook time is if you bake about a dozen cookies at a time."

  1. These are really great spice cookies! The dough was very easy to work with and the bake time was right on. When tasting them the same night I baked them, I thought they were a little bit bland. But, as in a lot of spice-based recipes, the next day the spices really came through and the cookies were excellent. We decorated them with confectioners' sugar icing and colored sugars and sprinkles, which added a needed sweetness. Thanks for sharing your favorite Christmas cookie recipe, Kree! P.S. I used butter instead of margarine, but otherwise didn't change a thing.

I'm a real estate agent in the lovely city of Rochester, New York. That's not what I expected to do with my life. I got my bachelor's in psychology, my masters in literacy education, and I taught high school special education for two years. Then I discovered that helping people find the homes of their dreams was my real passion. I've been doing it for over two years now and still absolutely love my career. Other than that, I have a very spoiled Border Collie mix named Bear that I adopted from a local shelter in spring '08. He's gorgeous and fun and brings me great joy. Now if only I could find a man like that... LOL!
