- 1⁄2 cup butter (or margarine or chicken fat or a mix of whatever you have)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 eggs
directions
- Boil butter, milk, and sugar in a saucepan on medium high heat. Sift together flour, salt, and nutmeg. Pour boiling mix into dry mix and stir until smooth. Add well-beaten eggs (one at a time) and mix thoroughly. Drop by spoonful into boiling soup. Cover and cook for 14 minutes.
