A very tasty sauce to serve with Köttbullar (Swedish Meatballs, Ikea Style)! I found this online. Enjoy!
- In a skillet, melt butter. When butter is melted, sprinkle flour into skillet. Stir to make a smooth roux.
- Slowly add beef stock, stirring to keep the sauce smooth. Add cream. Add soy sauce. Season to taste.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer and allow to simmer until desired consistency. Serve alongside meatballs.
Loved this sauce with the meatballs. SO easy to make and went great over rice! Made for the Hot Pink Panthers, ZWT9.
Yummy sauce! I made a double recipe of this sauce to serve over Köttbullar (Swedish Meatballs, Ikea Style). I made as written except that I added some Mrs. Dash seasoning, to taste for a little added flavor. Also, I added the sauce to the meatballs instead of serving on the side. This recipe goes together very quickly and easily and complemented the meatballs very well. Thank you for sharing! *Made for ZWT6 Xtra Hot Dishes*
This was definitely a good base recipe. I added chopped onions and garlic, which added a bit more flavor. I tasted the mix near the end of the simmering time, before I added the salt, and I thought it was plenty salty already. Thanks for posting! I was looking for a stroganoff-esque recipe that didn't call for sour cream as I'm out.
