- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 2 cups cream or 2 cups half-and-half
directions
- Sift dry ingredients.
- Cut in 1/4 cup of butter.
- Add the cream.
- Roll out on a floured board.
- Cut with a 2-inch cutter.
- Bake on an ungreased pan in a hot oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Wonderful. I do not keep buttermilk in the house and did not want to use shortening, so I tried these. Wonderful flavor. Great to use for Biscuit egg and cheese sandwiches. Instead of rolling them out, I rolled into a ball and then flatten came out amazing. Will add to my must haves for family Sunday breakfast.
