A friend gave me this recipe years ago and it is now a regular dish at our house. The relish is great with turkey or ham. Just a note - do not peel the fruit - including the orange! The rind gives the relish great flavor! Also, over the years we have added less and less sugar - if the pears are soft and juicy you can almost get away with only adding 1 cup of sugar. Just taste as you go - that is what we do!
