  • Soak the codfish in hot water for 3 mins.
  • drain and with hands squeeze as dry as possible.
  • (codfish will expand when wet, but after squeezing it packs back into about 1 1/2 cups.
  • In a bowl mix together the codfish and potatoes, butter, onion, and spice.
  • Blend well.
  • with hands shape into 1 and 1/2 inch bowls.
  • roll balls in flour .
  • heat oil or shortening to temp of 375 degrees . Fry for 1-2 mins or until balls are golden brown all over.
  • drain on paper towels and serve with tomato sauce and coleslaw.
