My Cousin-In-Law made these and I HAD to have the recipe. She emailed it to me, and this is the exACT recipe! (I guess this Lutheran recipe made it all the way to Oregon!) This is one of the BEST cookies EVER that doesn't use chocolate. Crispy, yet chewy, and mmm mmm mmm....the ONLY difference between her recipe and this was the baking time - hers was only 10 minutes. Thank you Mrs. Horsch!

A delicious cookie! I made a couple switches, most notably adding 1 tsp. cinnamon, and reducing the flour to 1 1/2 cups. I didn't have Rice Crispies, so I crushed Rice Chex cereal. These cookies came out perfectly golden and tender, with a great crunch from the cereal. For my non-chocolate-eating son, these are flying off the platter. Wonderful!
