Coca-Cola Pork Chops

"The Coke tenderizes the meat. Once mixture has simmered down it will make a barbecue like sauce that is sensational and the pork chops will be so tender, they'll practically fall apart."

  1. These are GREAT! Really easy to make as well. We simmered it for about an hour before the sauce thickened up nice, and oh boy were the chops tender! YUM!!! We just had to try this recipe because it sounded so interesting...glad we did as the whole family loved it! Thanks for sharing such a great recipe!

  2. EXCELLENT! Loved it! I just had to try it due to the unusual ingredient. The onions and mushrooms were absolutely wonderful, and the chops were nice & tender as well. We let it simmer for nearly an hour, however, before the sauce thickened up a bit. WAS GREAT!!!

  3. My husband swears this sauce tastes just like the “Bob’s Sauce” from his fav bbq place. For the most part I followed the recipe. The only changes I made were using fresh mushrooms, an all in one seasoning and doubling the liquid ingredients (coke, ketchup and mustard) because I wanted a lot of sauce. It turned out great and even tasted great poured over the potato wedges I made to go with it. Definitely going to make this again and again.

  4. We really liked this. I used dietCoke which is what I had. Boneless chops so I baked at 350 for roughly 35min. Next time I may flour the chops before browning. The flour bits that remain combined with the remaining ingredients may thicken the liquid. I added more seasoning but nothing fancy; just garlic and onion powder. Will make again.

  5. Totally moist and flavorful! DELICIOUS!! Definitely a keeper:)

Tweaks

  1. I followed the directions and used some really nice pork chops from the butcher shop but unfortunately they turned out very dry. The flavor was great and I used Dr Pepper instead of coke as the wife likes the DP. Ill try it again with less liquid and some thinner pork chops that you can cook quicker. Its worth a try and had nice flavor!

Love to read. I collect books and have quite a collection but am always adding more. I have also discovered audio books and find that I am able to get through more books by listening to them. Have recently started knitting and I really enjoy it even if it is quite a challenge at times. Always searching for a great recipe in any food category. As might be expected I never find "The One" but find many delicious ones along the way. One of our favorite restaurants is Jensen's Supper Club located in Eagan, MN.
