After I made this, I just had to try a sample before I put it in the refrigerator and I shouldn't have because I couldn't stop eating it! I finally left it alone and let it sit overnight and it was even better the next day! I used light sour cream. When I tested it right after making it, it seemed a little salty to me, but the next day the salty taste had blended in with the other flavors. I've been eating it with chips, on shrimp and even as a salad dressing!

This sauce is really good! I was afraid to put in all that salt, so I used 1 tsp. celery salt, 1 tsp. garlic salt, and 1 tsp. garlic powder, and tasted it along the way. We had it on tacos last night for dinner, and on quesadillas today for lunch. It's amazing how much the flavors developed over-night. Haven't tried it on steak yet, but it would be good, I'm sure! Thanks for the recipe!

Everyone always says that you either love cilantro, or you hate it. I ADORE it! This sauce is divine! I had to adjust the recipe a bit to account for the fact that some of the ingredients just don't exist in Israel. I left out the tomatillo altogether. Instead of celery salt and garlic salt I pulverized some celery seed and garlic cloves in the food processor together with the salt, cumin and lime juice to make a paste which I mixed in with the salsa. I made this on Friday afternoon and we had this for Saturday lunch with tuna croquettes and slices of avocado. As I said before, divine! Thanks so much for posting this!

Newly updated: Now, just my wife works and I am the stay-at-home-dad. So I have taken on the wonderful job for cooking for our on the go family. I am loving it. We live in far NE Colorado. We enjoy camping, gardening, and raising a few animals for the freezer (pigs). I really don't have a favorite cookbook. but if I did, it would consist of easy, quick and kid friend reicpes, like what I find here. My passion is horticulture (thus, my garden).
