Lovely savoury cheese balls that my mother used to make. One of the first things I learned to cook, so sharing here.


  1. Sift flour, salt and cayenne pepper together.
  2. Mix cheese with flour.
  3. Beat egg yolk and lemon together, mix with dry ingredients.
  4. Stiffly beat egg whites, and mix into mixture.
  5. Heat oil in fry pan.
  6. Drop approximately 12 portions into oil, fry until golden brown, turning to cook both sides.
  7. Drain on paper towel.
