  • Cook potatoes in a pan of boiling water for 10 minutes.
  • Slice potatoes into thin discs. Arrange a layer of potatoes in the base of an ovenproof dish. Layer with a little leek, garlic, cheeses, and parsley. Sprinkle salt and pepper.
  • Repeat layers until all ingredients have been used, finishing with a layer of cheese.
  • Mix cream and milk together, sprinkle salt and pepper, and pour over potatoes.
  • Cook in preheated oven 325 degrees for 1-11/2 hours. Cheese will turn golden brown and bubbly.
  • Garnish with basil leaves and any remaining parsley.

  1. I loved this recipe, though I added a few changes to it that made it great. Instead of the cream and milk separately, I used half and half. Also, in some of the layers I added red chilli powder, jalapenos, black olives, and other spices. mixed with the cream, it gave it a lot more flavor! love it.
     
  2. The flavour of this was very good. I particularly liked the fresh parsley and basil. The problem I had was the amount of milk in the recipe. There was a lot of liquid when the potatoes were done. I would make this again, but cut way back on the milk. Made for my adopted chef for Fall PAC 2009. Thanks Super Wifey! :)
