My grandfather was in the nut business and this is the recipe that's been handed down -- it's better on the second day after it's chilled longer.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 473.18 ml crushed cashews
  • 118.29 ml crushed almonds
  • 118.29 ml crushed hazelnuts (which I leave out since I'm allergic)
  • 473.18 ml applesauce
  • 59.14 ml blackberry wine
  • 29.58 ml cherry wine
  • 14.79 ml cinnamon
  • 4.92 ml vanilla


  1. MIx all ingrediants together. Add more nuts/wine to taste (be careful tasting or you won't remember the seder -- :).
  2. It should look like paste when done and should not be liquidy -- it is to remember the mortar used to build the pyramids.
