ingredients
- 907.18 g bag frozen hash brown potatoes, shredded or diced
- 226.79 g shredded cheddar cheese
- 226.79 g sour cream (I use fat-free)
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 118.29 ml butter or 118.29 ml margarine, melted (or less if you prefer)
- 118.29 ml chopped green onion
- 4.92 ml seasoning salt (optional)
- 0.61-4.92 ml garlic salt, to your taste (optional)
directions
- Mix together soup, sour cream and melted butter.
- Stir in cheddar, onions, and potatoes.
- Press into a sprayed 13" X9" baking dish.
- Bake at 350F for 1 hour or until hot and bubbly.

Wow... Where do these tried and true variations we are all familar with COME from? I know this recipe from my mother as "Party Potatoes" Only varient: reserve the 1/2 cup melted butter,crunch up cornflakes and add to melted butter... top potatoes with this mixture during last 20 minutes of bake time. Irresistible at parties and potlucks.
