    APPLE LAYER

    TOPPING

    Directions:

      Pre-heat oven to 375°F.

      FOR APPLE LAYER:.

      Arrange apples in 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
    4. 4
      Combine butterscotch chips, sugar, flour and cinnamon in small bowl; sprinkle over apples.

      Bake for 20 minutes.

      FOR TOPPING:.

      Combine flour and sugar in medium bowl.
    8. 8
      Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until crumbly.
    9. 9
      Stir in nuts and oats; sprinkle over apple layer.

      Bake for an additional 30 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is lightly browned.

      Cool slightly.

      Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.

      This is a sweeter apple crisp than I normally make due to the butterscotch chips but I loved the addition and wish I would have used nuts in the topping. Because I was feeding the family I opted out, but really think they would have been a great addition by cutting the amount of sweetness. This went together very easily by using my food processor for the topping. It made my kitchen smell divine.

      What an incredible treat. So quick and easy to make. It smelled devine while baking. It had great texture and tasted amazing. The butterscotch and tart apple make it so memorable. Thanks so much for sharing Annacia.
