This is my favorite cold, damp morning breakfast! I put about 1/3 cup steel cut oats and enough water to cover it in the microwave for 1 minute. (Watch carefully so it doesn't boil over.) I then add 1/2 tbls. brown sugar and any spices that strike me and stir well. Top with the walnuts and blueberries and enjoy! It is like a warm blueberry nut muffin without all the work! :)

I used quick oats for this since that is what I had (so I used the 1/2 cup oatmeal to 1 cup water ratio on the package). I also tried blackberries with it as well. Both were yummy!

Simple goodness! Don't let the 30 minute cooking time scare you - most oatmeals are less...just check the package like Kelly says. Be sure to stir in the blueberries when it's piping hot so they "melt". Delicious!
