    Directions:

      Combine first five ingredients.

      Cook over low heat until a little dropped in cold water forms a soft ball.

      Add butter and vanilla.

      Cool slightly.

      Beat until thick.

      If desired, add chopped nuts.

      Pour into a greased plate.

      Chill.
