Beef Steak Bourguignonne

This is a recipe I adopted from Recipezaar on February 13, 2005.

  1. Marinate the beef in red wine for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  2. Reserve liquid.
  3. Cook bacon take off pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, Sauté onion until wilted, set aside.
  5. Pan fry the marinated beef until golden brown.
  6. Sprinkle with flour, salt, peppercorn and pinch of thyme.
  7. Cover the meat with the reserved liquid and water.
  8. Simmer for 45 minutes or until beef in tender.
  9. Add more water if necessary to avoid over drying.
  10. Stir in sautéed mushrooms.
  11. Transfer in a platter, top with bacon pieces and parsley.
  12. Serve immediately.
