Beef Pie With Rice a Roni

This is a simple yet very delicious meal! A favorite of my DH since his childhood.

Back in the 1970's this was on my weekly menu! I have been looking for it for years. In fact, I called the company and even they could not find it! Thanks for bringing back a family favorite. This is the only time I ever use Rice-A-Roni but it is delicious to say the least. Thanks for the memory!

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Preheat oven to 400.
  2. In a skillet, lightly brown the Rice A Roni in the butter (keep flavor pack aside).
  3. Add and brown the ground beef, crumble finely.
  4. Stir in hot water.
  5. Add contents of the beef flavored packet that came with Rice A Roni.
  6. Add salt & pepper and mix.
  7. Cover and simmer for 15min on low.
  8. Cool slightly.
  9. Stir in 2 well beaten eggs.
  10. Fill pie shell with mixture.
  11. Top with bacon slices.
  12. Bake for 20 minutes.
  13. note: the bacon cooking on top of the pie is used to add flavor, but does not get crisp. You can brown the bacon slightly before adding it if you like.
