- 118.29 ml butter
- 177.44 ml sugar
- 4.92 ml vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 473.18 ml semolina
- 9.85 ml baking powder
- 177.44 ml yogurt (plain)
- 4.92 ml cardamom powder
- syrup
- 354.88 ml water
- 236.59 ml sugar
- 4.92 ml cardamom powder
- 9.85 ml lemon juice
directions
- cream the butter, sugar, vanilla.
- add the eggs, beat again.
- fold in semolina/yogurt/semolina/yogurt with spatula.
- pour into 8 x 8 pan, bake 350 for 30 minutes.
- while baking, boil the Syrup ingredients in a small sauce pan for 4-5 minutes, set aside to cool.
- allow the cake to cool for at least an hour after baking, spoon the syrup over the top of it.
- traditionally it is cut into diamond shaped pieces and removed from the pan. at home, it disappears so fast that i dont bother. we just cut out square chunks that look like cornbread and eat it with our chai :) Enjoy!
