- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 44.37 ml butter or 44.37 ml margarine
- 59.14 ml chopped basil
- 44.37 ml flour
- 473.18 ml milk
- salt and pepper
- 340.19 g macaroni, cooked
- 158.51 ml of grated cheddar cheese
- 158.51 ml grated parmesan cheese
- 158.51 ml grated gouda cheese (or whatever you desire)
- 2 tomatoes, slices
directions
- Saute onion and garlic in butter until translucent.
- Add basil and saute for another few minutes.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Add milk, salt and pepper and cook, stirring constantly until sauce thickens.
- In a greased casserole dish, layer macaroni, sauce, cheese and tomatoes ending with cheese and tomatoes.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
