Adopted recipe.I made this in a bundt pan, but it only filled it half way so it would probably be better in a loaf pan. The bake time listed is for the bundt pan so adjust accordingly if you use a loaf pan.I think this is best eaten within the first day or two. It seemed to dry out quickly.

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add egg and vanilla.
  3. Sift together dry ingredients, except for powdered sugar,and add to butter mixture.
  4. Stir in applesauce.
  5. Pour into greased pan.
  6. Bake in 350 degree oven about 35 mins or until toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool and remove from pan.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar.

Cake was very moist; cooked it in a loaf pan; was cooked in 50 min. (not 1 hr. 15 min. noted). Very easy to make - preparation time less than 10 min.

I tried to make this in 2 round 8" pans which I would not recommend! I check them at 1 hr and I had two overdone pancakes! Also, it would have been nice to know how big of pan to use. I will look elsewhere for an applesauce cake recipe!
