  • Add in order given for dough. Roll 1/2" thick. Add cinnamon and half of sugar to chopped apples and spread evenly over dough. Roll up as for a cinnamon roll. Cut 1" slices. In baking pan, put remaining cups of sugar and water. Stir until dissolved. Place apple roll, cut side down, in syrup and bake in oven (325 degrees) about 30 minutes or until all syrup has been absorbed. Serve while with warm cream.,.

  1. A nice recipe. I reduced syrup by 25 percent and put syrup into a foil lined well greased 9 by 13 inch pan while oven was preheating and I made up rolls. I also reduced the sugar for cinnamon mixture to 3 tablespoons and thought it was plenty and used 1 tablespoon of baking powder. I used 1 and 1/4 cups of milk for dough which might be because it is very dry here in desert. I rolled the dough between two pieces of wax paper. The hardest part was transferring the cut slices to pan without losing so much of the delicious apple bits. I wish the milk was listed after the egg, it would make it easier for an inexperienced baker. Thank you xrose for sharing. Made for Spring PAC 2013.
