Turns out my slow cooker runs at a very high temperature. I cooked it on high for 4 hours, with 1 cup brown and 3/4 cup granulated sugar, and then I used my immersion blender on the very well cooked apple slices. I should have just cooked it uncovered for 2 more hours on low at that point and I think it would have been perfect, instead I cooked it for an additional 3 hours on high and burnt it. Oh well, now I know what to do next time.

After several floods to my basement, I am starting to input all of the many many recipes that I've been collecting for years. I didn't realize just how many I had saved up... must make note to self.. step away from the cookbooks!
