Tasty and easy dessert for cold Fall evenings

  1. Heat oven to 375.
  2. Toss slices of apple with lemon juice.
  3. Toss with rest of filling ingredients.
  4. Pour into an 8 X 8 baking pan Put topping ingredients into a bowl.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Cut with a pastry blender, fingers or two knives until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  7. Cover apples completely and evenly.
  8. Bake 30-35 minutes or until topping is slightly browned and juices are bubbling.
  9. Serve warm with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream, or just eat plain.

It was good. I made one pan to try, then I added cinnamon and more brown sugar to the apples because it was really tart. I only used a 1/4 cup of butter for the topping.
