I did use a food processor for the almonds, other than made as written . Used this on some ritz crackers with the gang here during the football games. Very good spread, and loved the bacon/almond combo. Made for Pick a Chef 2011.

I really liked this! I couldn't find a block of american cheese for grating, but I did find a small block of a colby/mild cheddar/monteray jack blend. I used the food processor to make those almonds really really fine and also to grate the cheese (I love that little machine!) I had this on some sweet rolls I'd gotten from Costco and like it. I also sort of "accidently-on-purpose" managed to drop some onto my baked chicken at dinner time--it was pretty good, too. Next time, I may just add it as a topping to my chicken in the last 5 minutes or so of baking! Thanks for posting! Made for PAC-Spring 2009
