2 quarts

ingredients
- 3⁄4 cup whole milk (or you can use 2%or 1%, etc. for even lighter ice cream)
- 1⁄3 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups low-fat vanilla yogurt (or non-fat)
- 2 cups frozen unsweetened mixed berries, thawed and pureed (if you want HUGE pieces of strawberries in your ice cream, don't puree it!)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
directions
- In a medium bowl, mix the milk and sugar until the sugar is dissolved (about 1 to 2 minutes on low speed).
- Stir in the yogurt, berry puree and extract.
- Freeze according to manufacturers instructions.
- NOTE: the ice cream gets really hard if its put into a container in the freezer. I put it in a plastic bowl. I had to defrost it in the microwave for a little while before I could dig into it. Anyone know a better container I could put it in? I was thinking an empty ice cream container that I'd already used all the ice cream from?

Soooooo good!!!!!!!!! I used frozen blackberries that I pureed and then strained of the seeds. I love the pretty purple color it turned!! I used Dannon vanilla yogurt in this. This is the best frozen yogurt I have ever had!! Nothing beats homemade and this tasted even better than homemade ice cream to me because it was lighter and the yogurt really enhanced the blackberries!! Love this recipe, will definitely make again and again!!!!!!

I've always been in love with Hawaii. I went on vacation there and have wanted to go back ever since and live there. Im a very healthy person, I work out everyday and try to eat whats best for my body.I enjoy being active; i bike, run, kayak, walk and do whatever I can to get my blood pumping! I'm currently a junior in college, majoring in Fine Arts. My hope is to become an Art Therapist. Currently I'm in a relationship with my boyfriend, Mark. He balances my crazy life with his calm ways.
As far as baking and cooking, I've had a love for it since I was little. It runs in the family too, my great grandmother made the best cookies and homemade noodles and fried chicken. My grandmother makes the most amazing dinner rolls and my other gma makes wonderful gumbo. I enjoy baking the most; cookies and fresh baked breads are my faves to make. All in all I just enjoy being in the kitchen and making food that gets rave reviews.
