Nads Hair Remover

"After using this stuff I needed a cheaper way of doing it. Now that it is available in some stores the cost might still be too steep for all."

• Ingredients: 5
• Yields: 2 1/2 cups

ingredients

• 2 cups sugar
• 1⁄4 cup lemon juice
• 1⁄4 cup water
• wooden popsicle sticks
• cotton cloth, strips

directions

1. Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan.
2. Boil mixture until it reaches 250°F.
3. Pour into a jar (make sure the jar is hot so that the glass doesn't shatter).
4. When ready to use, microwave for about 10-20 seconds to soften.
5. Use while warm and apply with popsicle stick in direction of hair growth.
6. Apply cotton strip.
7. Firmly rub in the direction of hair growth.
8. Hold skin taut and quickly rip in the opposite hair growth direction.

I've used Nads for several years but shuddered at the cost each time I purchased it. I've tried several homemade recipes and this is the closest I've come to the real thing - WITH ONE CHANGE. The recipe says to cook it to 250*. That's "hard ball" candy stage. Once it cools your mixture is much too thick, requiring you to reheat it (for much longer than 20 seconds) every time you want to use it. Instead, cook it to just barely "soft ball" stage, 235*. You'll need to warm it a bit (closer to the 10-20 seconds stated) to get it the right consistency, which should be a very thick, sticky syrup - say twice as thick as honey. It works wonderfully, and I don't have to pay an arm and a leg anymore. Thank you!

I doubled the recipe and this stuff works great, never agin am I buying hair remover at the store. You have saved me tons of money! This stuff is great!

LOOOVE this! Did under my arms today. Gone! And it didn't pull my skin at all - just the hair. What a great recipe! I figure with buying the muslin for the strips I've saved myself TONS of money. It's about $5 to get yourself started with all you need. No more razors for me! Oh, and they don't say, but you have to cook this until it's about Amber in color. I did it until it just hit 250 and it was still too gooey and transparent. Then I nuked it for a bit and it was ready after it cooled. Great stuff. Great recipe.

excellent recipe! Thanks Shawn. The first time, i thought that I fluked it, but now that I have it perfect for the second, I know that it is a great recipe. The color changes to golden after it is taken off the heat ... I recommend to those who are apprehensive about trying this out... please don't hesitate, you will save yourself a lot of money.
