Crust
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1⁄2 cup shortening, I use Crisco

Filling
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 cup maraschino cherry, drained and chopped
- 1⁄2 cup pecans, chopped

Icing
- 1⁄4 cup shortening, soft
- 2 cups icing sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 -4 tablespoons milk
directions
- Preheat oven to 350*.
- Combine flour, baking soda, oats and brown sugar.
- Cut in shortening until crumbly.
- Press into a 9 x 13 pan, and bake for 10 minutes.
- Beat eggs, brown sugar and almond extract thoroughly.
- In a separate cup, mix together the flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add to the egg/sugar mixture and blend well.
- Stir in the coconut, cherries and pecans.
- Spread evenly over crust.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly brown.
- Cool completely before icing.
- Beat all icing ingredients together until smooth and creamy.
- Spread or over the baked mixture.
- Cut into squares.

I posting this because I had posted same recepie without frosting and zaar removed it because they say its a duplicate. These are awesome very sweet. Although I would never put frosting on them I think that my teeth would fall out from them bieng so sweet. Dont add frosting in my opinion..........they are fabulous with out frosting!
