  1. I love these cookies for Christmas.<br/>I usually sprinkle crushed candy cane over the mint filling. It makes them look festive.

  2. I made these cookies for a cookie exchange party. And not trying be snooty. But mine were the best, hands down. So soft and wonderful flavor. They stood out on the table with all the other platters because of their wonderful green color. Recipe should state a little more clearly on how to melt the chocolate. I microwaved it with intervals of 20 seconds. And stirred in between. I also put a slight bit of red sprinkles on mine. They were a hit.

  3. Chocolate thumbprints were a tradition in our home when I was growing up. This year, I decided to try this recipe instead of my old one, and I have to say that these are far, far better. Absolutely delicious!!!! The only thing I changed was to add just a bit more powdered sugar to the filling, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. They turned out so beautiful! They're also quite delicate, so be careful handling them. These will now be our new family tradition. Thank you!!

  4. I gave this 4 stars. These taste just like mint brownies I make from a recipe in a magazine. I chilled my dough but found it was not workable after chilling and had to be warmed. I didn't have great success with my cookies staying formed during baking (they went flat) after the dough warmed up though. Great mint flavor and the kids loved them! Thanks for a good recipe christine (internetnut)

  5. For taste and presentation these are five star, but I believe the instructions should indicate that the chocolate chips and shortening should be drizzled on top and not mixed into the filling. Thanks for posting this recipe, it will be an attractive cookie on my Christmas baking platters :)
