Unleavened Crumble Communion Bread

"It's that time of year - 1st Holy Communion is here! I found this on cooks.com, as the Holy Communion recipe posted at zaar contains a nut extract and many children have allergies to nuts. I have yet to make this, so I estimated on prep time."

  1. Very nice taste. I omitted the salt since I used margerine (which has salt in it) and used 1 tbsp sugar since the previous review mentioned it being overly sweet. I thought 1 tbsp was the perfect amount. I've also used butter with this recipe but I like it better with the margerine.

  2. My son and I made this recipe, as a first communion project. It was easy to make and the recipe's directions were right on. However, it was more like eating sugar cut out cookies than bread[maybe that is because we used butter instead of shortening ;)]. But my entire family tired it and loved the taste!!

I was born and raised in Boston and continue to live here still. I met my hubby in 1986 and we've been together ever since. We have two children and my family is my passion. Pet peeves? Rudeness, laziness, greed, hatred, and bad manners of any kind. And for some reason, I can't stand listening to someone whistle!
