ingredients
- 1 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 cup tequila (anything decent like Sauza Silver, Cazadores, Hornitos...)
- 1 cup water
- 5 -6 tablespoons agave syrup
- 2 teaspoons orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier, Cointreau, Origine)
- 1 lime wedge
- salt, & sugar for the glass rim (equal parts of sea salt and sugar)
directions
- Mix the lime juice, tequila and, water agave syrup in a measuring cup. Stir until the syrup is fully incorporated with the liquids.
- Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of a glass; dip the glass into the salt/sugar mixture; take any excess salt/sugar off rim to make it look pretty!
- Fill the glass just halfway with margarita mix, fill the glass the rest of the way with ice cubes and stir.
- Pour a small "dollop" of orange liqueur on top of the ice (about 2 teaspoons).
- Add a lime wedge and serve!
- Make the concoction to suit your taste by adding more agave syrup (if you like it sweeter) or lime juice (for a more sour flavor).
- Enjoy!

I love to serve great food and wine for family and friends. I don't believe good food and wine has to be expensive ! I love to travel and play with my dogs. I recently "retired" after 23 years with the same company. I'm rediscovering what life is like without the "9 to 5." Rollerblading is keeping my body in check while I use some of my spare time on new cooking adventures. Thanks to all who've shared their favorites on this great website ! The internet has brought us together & it's fantastic !
