  • Dust ribs with flour; brown in shortening in a large, heavy pan. Pour off excess drippings. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over ribs. Cover. Cook over low heat about 2 1/2 hours or until tender, turning ribs and basting with sauce occasionally.
