- 2 tablespoons instant coffee (Tasters Choice Please)
- 1 1⁄2 cups dark brown sugar
- 1 1⁄2 cups white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup water
- 25 ounces alcohol
directions
- Bring first 5 ingredients only to a boil. Let stand to cool.
- Skim & put through strainer or cheesecloth.
- Cool completely.
- Add 25 oz alcohol and stir well.
- Store for 30 days if you can. Just makes it taste better.

This a good recipe except for the quantity of Water. For 25 oz of alcohol, I use 1-1/2 cups of water, not just 1 cup. And BTW, ye you can use Vodka instead of alcohol. Also, the recipe doesn't state the proper cooking instructions. You need to bring the the ingredients to a slow boil for 1 minute then let it simmer on low heat for 5 minutes. Do not over-boil or you will end up with candy! Finally, allow the 5 ingredient mixture to cool properly before adding the alcohol.
