Strawberry Cinnamon Oatmeal

"This is just a little something I concocted this morning in lieu of how chilly it is outside (yes yes I know 50 degrees isn't very cold, but it is for florida). It combines my two favorite things--cinnamon and strawberries!"

  • Combine the oats and water in a bowl, stir and add about half the Equal and cinnamon.
  • Microwave for 1 minute.
  • Stir, then add in the strawberries and stir again.
  • Microwave for 1 more minute.

  1. Cinnamon and strawberries are an interesting combination! I used old fashioned oats, frozen strawberries, and about half a tablespoon of cinnamon. I initially used two packets of Splenda, but later added two more because the cinnamon flavor was just too strong. I stopped microwaving it thirty seconds into the third minute, because it reached a good consistency for me. Thanks for posting.

  2. Yum! I used blackberry jam instead of Equal, just a sprinkle of cinnamon, and did not cook the strawberries. Delicious! Cooked it 1.5 minutes total.

  3. This is my favorite favorite thing to eat, every night before bed! I use oat ban instead of oats, and lots more berries though. I also like to add a bit of banana extract sometimes. I use Stevia herb instead of Equal to sweeten. MMMMMM!

I try to tend a lot to their tastes (she likes traditional comfort foods and he prefers spicer fare) and I am very health concious. I am also an avid baker and run my own bakery business when I'm not at school so I am always looking for and creating new bakery recipes.
