ingredients
- 1⁄3 cup shortening
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3⁄4 cup skim milk
directions
- Heat oven to 425.
- Cut shortening into flour, sugar,baking powder, and salt.
- Add enough milk to make dough.
- Pat into greased 8" round pan.
- Bake 15 minutes.
- Cut into 8 wedges.

Just what I was looking for. I didn't have a clean 1/3rd cup so used 1/4 cup shortning and for flavor added a heaping Tbs of butter. Just the right amount of sweetness. I may try rolling them out to make individual cakes in the future - realizing there will be more of a chance of the dough getting tough if I do so.
