- 1 ready-to-eat ham steak (2 pounds)
- 1⁄2 cup chopped onion
- 1⁄2 cup peeled chopped tomato
- 1 cup dry red wine
- 1⁄2 cup beef broth
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Place ham in a baking dish.
- Add onions, tomatoes, wine, broth and bay leaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes, basting frequently.
- Knead butter and flour together.
- Stir into gravy a little at a time, stirring until thickened.

Pretty good ham! with an unusual sauce for a ham-based dish. DH didn't care for the sauce: I thought it was OK, but not great. It really reduced the saltiness in the ham, though. And left a good flavor in the meat. Tender, too.<br/>The recipe was very easy to make, very little fuss. Not sure I will make it again but it was well worth trying. Thanks, from Janet
