I made these today and we can't stop eating them. They're sweet, chewy and crunchy, and very easy to make. The hardest part was waiting for them to cool down. I couldn't find Saltines, so used Salada crackers which worked well. Be sure to stir the butter/sugar mixture frequently so it doesn't stick and burn. Even in the summer heat they kept very nicely wrapped in foil, with no need for refrigeration.
