Popeyes Biscuits

"I don't know if this is Popeye's recipe, but I've had it for 30 years and it makes great biscuits. My highschool home ec. teacher had it in a church cookbook. I always bake these in an iron skillet and place a pat of butter on top of each biscuit. These biscuits remind me of my grandmother's cathead biscuits."

 1. So insanely good I can't even find the words. The one change I made: I melted a stick of margarine in the baking dish, put my biscuits in and flipped them over before baking. Unbelievable. Best recipe EVER. :)

I'm a retired elementary teacher. I taught for 33 years. The ladies I have taught with during those years were all excellant cooks. We celebrated birthdays each month with all kinds of baked goodies. One year, we sold a book of our favorite recipes as a fund raiser for our school.
My college girlfiends and I get together often now after 40 years of getting our college degrees, working, and retiring. We all love to cook, and living in Louisiana is a definite benefit to all of us as we have great country and "cajun" cooking.
