Pearl's Beans

"This was an old family recipe, but hasn't been made in a long time, so I don't really remember the taste very well. I wrote the recipe just as I have it, but it could probably use some spicing up (Ex.- salt, pepper, onion, garlic). Feel free to improvise. Cook time is a guesstimate, as the recipe says "till hot"."

I'm an on-again, off-again cook. I mostly like making desserts. My favorite cookbook is the "Cake Mix Doctor". Is that cheating? I do love the book though. My other favorite is an old local cookbook that my grandmother used to make all of the family holiday treats from. I have it now, and try to make the old favorites, but don't quite have them mastered (mostly the candies, that I don't quite get)
