- 1⁄2 cup uncooked regular oats
- 1⁄2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1⁄4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 cup egg substitute
- 3⁄4 cup nonfat milk
- 2 tablespoons applesauce
- 1 tablespoon honey

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake oats in a single layer in a shallow pan 10 minutes or until lightly toasted, stirring after 5 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack 10 minutes. Process oats in a blender or food processor 30 seconds or until finely ground.
- Sift together flours, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl; stir in ground oats.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, applesauce, and honey in a medium bowl; gently stir in oat mixture.
- Cook batter in a preheated, sprayed waffle iron until golden.
