To the Baker who said it only calls for 2 cups of flour...you start by adding 2 cups and then add enough flour to make a soft dough for a total of about 7 cups (I used about 6 1/2). You'll see it in the recipe. It works and turns out nicely! Give it another try...you'll be happy!

I relocated from Pittsburgh, PA to Virginia Beach in 1998 and they do not sell the New Years Pretzels anywhere. After many years of trying to buy one, I found this recipe and decided to give it a try. I was pretty sure I would mess it up and end up with one of those funny "nailed it" kind of result, since I am not much of a baker.... but This recipe was easy to follow and very yummy! I made one with the vanilla drizzle and sprinkles and another with the vanilla drizzle and cinnamon sugar. My entire family enjoyed this recipe! I am going to make this again for sure! Thank you so much!!!!!

It's New Year's Eve and I am making my second attempt at this pretzel. It says 7 cups of flour but only tells you to add two cups. If this second attempt does not work, I am tossing this recipe. I have baked for a long time and know I am doing everything right with the yeast. I can't give this recipe any stars.
