ingredients
- 2 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 3⁄4 cup melted margarine or 3/4 cup butter
- 1 1⁄2 cups brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
directions
- Preheat oven for 350 degrees.
- Mix all ingredients well (She used a hand mixer).
- Spoon out on ungreased baking sheet 1-2 inches apart.
- Bake 15 minutes or until edges begin to brown and cookie "looks" done.

Good basic recipe. Added a dash of salt, otherwise made as stated. Sieved flour and baking soda (as I always do) before adding to the other ingredients. The dough is very stiff and I found it easier to roll the cookies by hand instead of using a spoon. This made 25 rather large cookies which baked in exactly 15 minutes. The cookies are crisp on the edges and semi-soft in the middle. For the non-Americans; 3/4 cup butter/margarine weighed 120 grams on my kitchen-scale. Thanks for posting.

I am a wife, a mother and a pretty darn good friend, (If you ask me) lol.
My children are my life, my husband really is a great guy. I am a hermit lol. I enjoy being in my home more or less. Typical Cancer right? I have just begun to really indulge in the whole cooking thing. I am starting to enjoy making and testing new recipes. Mabe this comes with age, well it did for me anyway!
