Tie with a pretty ribbon and attach a gift tag with the following instructions:
- Empty the contents of the wine bottle and of the spice mix jar into a pot. Heat on medium until nearly boiling, but DO NOT boil. Heat for 30 minutes, then strain the mulled wine and return it to the pot. Keep it warm if you want to serve it straight away, if not allow to cool and reheat when ready to use. You can also add some rum for a stronger version.

I made this spice mix for our own pleasure, so we could sip on a festive holiday drink while decorating our Christmas tree. And it was positively fabulous. I used a moderately priced cabernet sauvignon, but I think just about any red wine would be just as good for this mulled wine spice blend. All of the wonderful spices melded together for a spectacular mulled wine. But the star anise and cloves in particular really flavored the wine nicely. This is something really special that I%u2019ll definitely be serving for the holidays year after year. Thanks for sharing your recipe, lalaloula. Made for "Please Review My Recipe" tag game.
