Sue! These are amazing! Absolutely delicious! My neighbor has been ehelping me bake this week, so it's really been cookie chaos! It's been a lot of fun. The frosting is unbelievable! My girlfriend, who's helping me bake, made one batch of these and I made another. But between our hubbys, they were flying off of the cooling racks faster than I could count! I wanted to get a count on them, but no luck! lol Fabulous cookie Sue!! Made for a KK forum event!! 24 Days of Cookies

How could I have almost forgotten to rate these? Very easily, that's how - out of sight (that is, devoured), out of mind! But my relatives and I adored these for a Friday night treat. I used vegan ingredients and the only thing I would add (and it might be just the veganization) is that they need to be flattened on the sheet. The ones I simply dropped took a very long time to bake and didn't spread that well. Second batch, pressed with a fork, came out more nicely. This is a keeper - iced cookies, imagine! Thanks very much for posting!

These are some exceptional cookies to survive my mistakes tonight! I have never had such a bad night as I have had tonight in nearly 40 years baking. I grabbed the wrong measuring spoon and added in 1&1/2 tsp. baking powder instead of 1 tsp. I think I can taste the baking powder but I doubt you really can. Then I went on to make the frosting. I was making it in the mixer and was just turning it off to add in the coffee and turned it to high instead. I had chocolatey, buttery sugar EVERYWHERE!! So I am not sure of ratio of coffee to other ingredients but I added enough for a nice spreading consistency. The frosting really does make the cookies special. I have 2 suggestions: use strong coffee and you may need to grease your cookie sheet, it worked much better for me when I did!! Thanks for the recipe. I will try this one again but start earlier in the day!
