Mango Lassi

"Lassi is an Indian drink, very refreshing on a hot day. Great cooling accompaniment to any curry. This recipe works just as well with strawberries, raspberries and peeled peaches or nectarines as long as they are really ripe."

  1. I assume soda water is seltzer water. I did not like this recipe. Very sour blah blah tasting.

  2. This tasted delicious, a great balance of sweet and tart. I added a teaspoon of lemon juice, and I think that improved the overall taste.

  3. This is very similar to the mangoe lassi I had at Indian restaurants. I won't recommend using canned mangoes. Fresh ripped mangoes provide better taste than canned mangoes.

  4. Yummy, though I added milk instead of the seltzer. And I also used canned mango, which I was told my the waiter at my favorite Indian restaurant, is how it is done. I am puzzled by the previous review, as additional sugar could certainly have been added and yogurt isn't "very sour". Add more mango or whatever you feel will suit your tastes. You as the creator of the dish/drink have every opportunity to modify it to your liking... especially with this recipe.
