Mae's Cherry Surprise Cake

- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 21 ounces cherry pie filling

Topping
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
directions
- Mix oil & sugar thoroughly. Add eggs one at a time. Beat until fluffy. Add vanilla.
- Sift flour & baking powder. Add to liquid & beat Mix sugar & cinnamon for topping.
- Grease 13 1/2 x 9 1/2 x 2 pan. Pour 1/2 of the batter across bottom. Sprinkle 1/2 of the topping over batter. Spoon cherry pie filling over batter. Pour remaining batter over filling. Sprinkle topping on top.
- Bake @ 325 degrees for 50 minutes.
